ARTS NORTH WEST AT SALON 2025

June 23, 2025

Back at the Desk: Inspiration from SALON 2025

After a rejuvenating trip to Sydney, the Arts North West On Tour team is back at our desk, brimming with inspiration following the SALON 2025 Showcase hosted by Arts on Tour at the Seymour Centre.

SALON is one of the most exciting events on the touring calendar, an annual showcase of outstanding Australian productions ready to hit the road. It brings together producers, presenters, artists and cultural organisations from across the country to experience a curated selection of tour-ready works across theatre, dance, music and interdisciplinary performance.

From deeply moving theatrical narratives to visually striking dance performances and captivating live music, the calibre of work on display was nothing short of exceptional. These are productions created with heart and imagination, designed not only to entertain but to spark thought, conversation and community connection.

As the Arts North West On Tour Coordinator, attending SALON is both a privilege and a key part of our planning process. It allows us to connect directly with artists and producers, discover new work that could resonate with audiences in our region, and begin conversations that will ultimately bring these performances to towns and communities throughout the New England North West.

At Arts North West, our goal is to ensure that regional audiences have access to the same high-quality cultural experiences as those in metropolitan centres. Touring performances are a vital part of that picture, supporting artists while enriching local communities with professional, inspiring, and sometimes surprising art.

We’re currently in the process of speaking with our regional venue partners to explore which of these fantastic SALON 2025 productions could tour to the North West in the coming year. But we’d love to hear from you too.

What kinds of performances would you love to see at your local venue?

Are you drawn to contemporary theatre, live music, family shows, or bold, experimental works? Your feedback helps shape our program, ensuring it reflects the interests and tastes of our vibrant regional communities.

Let us know your thoughts, reach out on social media or email us at [insert contact email].

Let’s make 2025 an unforgettable year for the performing arts in our region!
