Arts North West is seeking passionate and skilled individuals to join our volunteer, skills-based Board. We are particularly interested in people with expertise in human resources (HR), legal affairs, finance, and philanthropy who are eager to contribute to our mission of fostering creativity, community engagement, and cultural growth across the region.
As a Board member, you will help shape Arts North West’s strategic direction, champion the arts in our communities, and collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals committed to cultural enrichment. Your leadership will support a resilient organisation that continues to deliver meaningful outcomes for artists, audiences, and regional communities.
The addition of specialist expertise to our Board is vital in ensuring Arts North West operates effectively, ethically, and sustainably.
HR Expertise:
Strong HR capability is essential for cultivating a positive organisational culture and supporting a thriving workforce. A Board member with HR expertise would provide guidance on recruitment, policy development, governance, and compliance with employment legislation, while helping foster an environment that attracts, develops, and retains talented staff. This insight supports best practice in leadership, staff wellbeing, and organisational performance.
Legal Expertise:
Legal knowledge plays a critical role in governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. A Board member with legal experience would help ensure Arts North West meets its obligations, mitigates risk, and navigates contractual and intellectual property matters with confidence. This expertise strengthens the Board’s decision-making and helps safeguard the organisation’s long-term future.
Financial Expertise:
Financial stewardship underpins the stability and growth of Arts North West. A Board member with strong financial acumen would contribute to strategic budgeting, financial oversight, and risk management, while supporting transparency and accountability. Their guidance would help ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable and well-positioned to invest in impactful programs that benefit our region.
Philanthropy Expertise:
Experience in philanthropy can significantly expand Arts North West’s capacity to support artists and communities. A Board member with this background would help identify funding opportunities, cultivate donor relationships, and guide strategic fundraising initiatives. Their leadership would support revenue diversification and strengthen a culture of giving, enabling the organisation to grow its reach and deepen its impact.
If you are a strategic thinker with expertise in any of these areas and a passion for the arts, we would love to hear from you. Together, we can ensure Arts North West continues to thrive as a leading force for creativity and cultural development in regional New South Wales.
