The Arts North West Sustainable Communities Program
The ‘Arts North West Sustainable Communities Program’ is a new program for the organisation, whereby we aim to design projects and programs that rest on three essential pillars:

- Environmental integrity
- Social and economic viability
- Social equity

The NENW is experiencing social and economic transitions due to climate change, transitions of energy and resources production, an expanding migrant population, an ageing population and the changing modern world.

This program aims to respond to the changes in our regional identity through creative expression. In order for regional communities to thrive there needs to be investment liveability and the development of new creative enterprises.

Understanding Our Audiences:
Event Evaluation and Data Collection

Introducing Arts North West's new pilot program, Understanding Our Audiences: Event Evaluation and Data Collection.

As a leading arts organisation in the New England North West region of NSW, Arts North West is excited to offer event organisers, councils and stakeholders a valuable new tool to enhance upcoming events. Arts North West will thoroughly collect relevant data from your event, ranging from the number of attendees to demographic insights.

Our service goes beyond collecting statistics; we will engage attendees with customised surveys to capture their experience, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their engagement. What sets our service apart is the detailed reporting provided to organisers. Arts North West will collect and collate the valuable data into a detailed case study, complete with insightful and easy-to-interpret graphs. This comprehensive analysis serves as a roadmap for organisers, highlighting event successes and areas for improvement. Equipped with this bespoke service, event holders can make informed decisions, optimising future events, and shape stronger connections within their communities.

Arts North West's Understanding Our Audiences service is not just about statistics; it's about fostering community engagement and ensuring the success of events. From fulfilling funding requirements to reporting outcomes, our newest service is the key to unlocking the full potential of your future events.

Public Art in the NENW

Arts North West (ANW) supports public art initiatives through a combination of strategic programming, advisory services, and collaborative projects. Here’s how ANW contributes:

Public Art Coordination: ANW manages and facilitates public art projects in collaboration with local councils, community groups, and artists. This includes projects tied to significant developments, such as hospitals or public spaces, ensuring artworks reflect local culture and identity.

Consultation and Expertise: ANW provides advice on public art policy development, planning, and implementation. By working closely with stakeholders, ANW ensures that public art aligns with community values and contributes meaningfully to the region's cultural landscape.

Artist Engagement and Support: Through their Arts North West Connect initiative, ANW links artists with opportunities, providing a platform to connect creatives with public art projects across the New England North West.

By nurturing partnerships, offering professional guidance, and advocating for regional artistic expression, Arts North West plays a key role in embedding public art into the social and cultural fabric of the NENW.

PUBLIC ART IN THE NENW

Film NENW

Film NENW is your first point of contact for filming in this region. We can link you to the services offered by our 11 film-friendly local Councils to help you create a successful production on time and on budget.

New England North West region of New South Wales is the gateway to some of the most beautiful and diverse scenery in Australia. Modern regional centres sit alongside the Victorian, Colonial and Art Deco architecture of our many vibrant smaller communities, and our World Heritage and rainforest wilderness areas, flat dry plains and dramatic ranges provide a wonderful variety of filming backdrops.

Whether you’re shooting a feature film or television commercial, our goal is to make your production a smooth and rewarding experience. We’re here to help.

Services include:
- Locations research and information
- Information and assistance with permits and filming policies across the region
- Online access to our locations image database and a resources directory of local crew
- Referrals and liaison with local communities and other government agencies
- Advice on travel, transport, accommodation and practical information about shooting in the region

If you are planning to film in our region please refer to the Local Government Filming Protocol before you submit a completed Filming Application Form.

A filming permit may be required if you are:
- Filming in public locations such as streets, national parks or cultural sites which are controlled by local Council, State or Federal Government agencies;
- Filming on major roads or highways controlled by the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority, using firearms, pyrotechnics or explosives.

We advise filmmakers to contact Film NENW first. Permit applications should be submitted at least ten (10) working days prior to the commencement of filming to allow sufficient time for processing. For information about Fees and Charges see below.
