Arts North West is a part of a network of 15 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) in NSW, in close partnership with our parent body Regional Arts NSW

What is a RADO?

A Regional Arts Development Organisation (RADO) is a local, regionally-based agency dedicated to supporting, developing, and promoting arts and cultural activities.

There are 15 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) in New South Wales, each providing strategic direction for sustainable arts and cultural development in their region.
Member RADOs are supported by RANSW, who acts as a central coordinating agency (peak-body).

RANSW does this by providing leadership & political advocacy (both private and public) on behalf of the network, supporting the RADOs with resources,
professional development and professional services (HR, insurance etc.), coordinating network communication and aiming to amplify regional voices through their own platforms.

What we do

Support local artists and arts workers by providing professional development, funding advice, and project support.
‍Build community capacity by helping local groups and individuals create and deliver arts projects.
‍Partner with local councils and organisations to integrate arts into tourism, economic development, and community planning.
‍Deliver arts programs, events, and festivals that reflect the unique character and needs of their region.
‍Advocate for the value of arts and culture in regional communities and amplifies regional voices at state and national levels.

The Regional Arts Network

Arts North West is a part of a network of 15 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) in NSW, in close partnership with our parent body Regional Arts NSW.
Individually and collectively, the RADO network works with creative organisations, councils, governments and the philanthropic sector to maximise the opportunities available to practitioners and creative groups in regional NSW.

As a network, we work together to build a vibrant, resilient, and accessible arts ecosystem across NSW.
By working collaboratively, all of the RADOs amplify their individual and collective impact, ensuring that regional communities benefit from rich cultural opportunities and creative growth.

Sharing resources & expertise
Shared projects and programs
Unified voice in arts advocacy
Cross-promotion of events, projects and programs
Creating a collaborative and supportive wider work environment

There are 15 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) in New South Wales, each providing strategic direction for sustainable arts and cultural development in their region.
Their Boards include representatives from local government, tourism, education, arts councils and other community arts organisations and community members.
Each employs an Executive Director and other staff who coordinate a cultural development program across the contributing local government areas in their region.
