Country Arts Support Program now open

August 25, 2015

CASP is a key regional arts funding program which provides funding to arts and community organisations in regional New South Wales. The aim is to provide access to arts activities for small communities, to encourage communities to work together on cultural projects, to foster cultural diversity in the region and to ensure that regional and rural areas have an artistic voice.. Grants are up to $3,000 and will be given to short term, locally initiated projects starting in 2016.

So start thinking about some great arts projects that you would like to see happen in our region!

In the 2015 round of CASP grants, a diverse range of arts and cultural projects within the Arts North West region received over $19,000 in funding.  This included drypoint etchings of birdlife (Gravesend), theatre workshops for primary students (Moree), a creative day for older people at NERAM (Armidale), writing workshops for locative literature (Armidale), an art project and exhibition for people with a disability (Tenterfield) and two Aboriginal traditional craft workshops in carving and weaving (Tamworth).

For more information or to discuss your projects ideas, contact Arts North West on 0428 042 622 or by email rado@artsnw.com.au. The CASP application pack for 2016 is available for applicants to download here.

Applications close on 1 October 2015.
