Hootenanny High Tea stood as a thoughtful expression of Arts North West’s commitment to nurturing connection through live music. Presented by Arts North West On Tour as part of the 54th Toyota Tamworth Country Music Festival, the series created a welcoming space where artists and audiences could meet on equal ground, sharing stories, songs, and time together.

Across three afternoons — January 19, 21, and 23 — Arts North West transformed the Chapel Theatre into a place of gathering and belonging. The program reflected the organisation’s deep care for regional voices and diverse musical traditions, with folk, bluegrass, and blues unfolding in an atmosphere shaped by listening, generosity, and mutual respect. Each date revealed its own character, from the lyrical grace of Jhana Allen and Jane A Naoi to the easy camaraderie of the Peel River Ramblers; from Carly Robinson’s heartfelt songwriting to Buddy Knox’s seasoned blues and the exploratory sounds of the Articulate Mutes.

The final gathering offered a sense of warmth and closure, with Ash Morse’s radiant melodies, Crow Mountain’s tender harmonies, and the Rusty Pickups’ rollicking spirit. Through thoughtful curation and a strong focus on community, Arts North West created more than a concert series — Hootenanny High Tea became a shared experience that strengthened connections, celebrated regional artistry, and reminded everyone of the power of coming together around live music.
