Jane A Naoi (ah-nay) brings haunting vocals and sensitively played guitar to frame carefully crafted lyrics exploring themes of love, loss and human connection.

Since returning to live performance in 2022, Jane has been a grand finalist in both the TSA Songwriter Awards and Fretfest Regional Songwriting Awards and was the winner of the 2026 High Country Songbird Award.

Jane’s music sits at the crossroads of folk, country, indie pop and Americana, creating a sound that both timeless and contemporary.

Music is where I go when I need to heal, to process, to connect, to channel joy. When I share my music with others, it is always with a view to opening the door for them to do the same.

Based in Tamworth, NSW, I am a singer-songwriter who sees music as a form of connection through storytelling.

I choose my words with care, mindful of the weight each one carries and the stories they have the power to tell. I craft melodies that echo those stories, allowing the music and the words to work together to create something honest, intimate and meaningful.

My songs are invitations for listeners to find something of their own story within them. I hope my music gives people space to recognise, explore and process their own experiences, while creating a sense of connection — both with the music and with each other.

I don't always write the happiest songs, but they are underpinned by a sense of hope. That hope reflects something I hold close: there is always light beyond the darkness. Sometimes we have to find it, and sometimes we need to be brave enough to create it ourselves.
