From 17th to 19th July 2024, Regional Music Matters brought energy and opportunity to the New England North West’s music scene during an unforgettable 3-day program at the UNE SMART Region Incubator in Tamworth. Hosted by Sound and Soul Music and led by CEO Athol Munroe, this event empowered local musicians to grow their careers and strengthen the region’s vibrant music community.

Day 1 kicked off with a focus on community and business essentials. Participants gained valuable insights through legal sessions, a vibrant music showcase, and an engaging networking mixer, which set the tone for connection and creativity while equipping attendees with critical industry knowledge.

Day 2 highlighted hands-on skill development with practical workshops, headshot sessions, and tips for enhancing online presence. The day wrapped up with an electrifying jam session and open mic night, fostering collaboration and showcasing the region’s diverse musical talent.

Day 3 delved into entrepreneurial strategies, featuring expert panels, bio-writing workshops, and revenue planning. The program concluded with a celebratory closing ceremony, recognizing participant achievements and inspiring future collaborations within the local music industry.
