Songwriting for Wellbeing — Gunnedah Conservatorium

Opportunity Description
Songwriting for Wellbeing is a free monthly meetup at Gunnedah Conservatorium for young people aged 12 to 25. Sessions offer a supportive space to write music, whether refining something already in progress or starting from scratch, with chances to collaborate with other young musicians and experience recording.
The sessions are open to all levels and abilities, from experienced musicians to anyone simply curious about expressing themselves through music. The program is built around the idea that creative expression can support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and personal growth, and organisers are encouraging parents, teachers, youth workers, and support professionals to pass the opportunity on to young people in their lives.
Sessions are mentored by Sewa Emojong, arecording artist performing as E.S Malaika.
The program is delivered by Gunnedah Conservatorium in partnership with E.S Emojong Consultancy, with support from The Arts Unit, NSW Department of Education.
