CASE Incubator National Residency Program

Opportunity Description

Applications are open for the 2026 CASE Incubator National Residency Program, a paid 12-month residency for mid-career artists working in socially engaged art. Running from October 2026 to September 2027, the program will select one artist from each Australian state and territory.

Delivered by The Cad Factory, the residency offers mentorship from sector leaders, peer learning with a national cohort, and support to deliver a small project or resource for the sector.

What's included:

  • $3,000 (ex. GST) artist fee, plus super
  • $4,000 (inc. GST) to deliver a small project or resource
  • Travel, accommodation and per diems for two in-person residencies in Sydney

What you'll need to commit to:

  • A 4-day residency in Sydney, 27 to 30 October 2026
  • A second 4-day residency in Sydney in August 2027 (dates to be confirmed)
  • Eight 2-hour online learning and discussion workshops
  • Delivering a small socially engaged art project or resource between November 2026 and September 2027

Eligibility:

  • Applying as a solo artist with an active ABN
  • Public liability insurance, or willingness to get this if needed
  • Delivered five or more socially engaged projects
  • Available for both Sydney residencies and all online workshops
