The Youth Award for Achievement in the Arts recognises the achievement of an Australian First Nations artist or arts worker aged 18 to 35, working in community arts and cultural development, dance, experimental arts, literature, multi-arts, music, theatre or visual arts.

Nominations can be submitted by individuals over 18 residing in Australia, or by Australia-based organisations. Self-nominations aren't accepted.

To be eligible, nominees must identify as Australian First Nations and be based in Australia. Nominees with an overdue grant report or an outstanding debt to Creative Australia aren't eligible, and nor are those who have previously received this award or who were shortlisted for a First Nations Arts and Culture Award in the past three years.

A nomination needs a CV or extended bio for the nominee (around 2 pages), examples of their artform, and can include up to four letters of support.

The recipient will be presented with the Award at the First Nations Arts and Culture Awards ceremony on Thursday 27 May 2027.
