Regional Event Fund - Event Development Stream

Key Information
This fund is open, offering grants of up to $50,000 (ex GST) for events that have already received and completed triennial Flagship Event funding, with applications opened on 18 March 2026 and closing 31 December 2026 at 11:59pm.
Grant Details
The Regional Event Fund identifies and supports events in regional NSW with the potential to act as a cornerstone or flagship tourism event for their area, attracting overnight visitation and delivering long-term regional benefits. The Event Development stream supports events that have previously received the maximum funding available through the Flagship Event stream and can present a comprehensive strategy for future growth, including continued development of the event's tourism potential.
The stream offers one-off grants of up to $50,000 (ex GST) for key strategic growth initiatives that will directly increase overnight visitation to the event. A clear strategic rationale is required for all initiatives, along with justification for the amount requested. The program is funded and administered by Destination NSW.
To be eligible, the event must take place between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027, have previously received and completed triennial Flagship Event funding, and be held within one of the seven Destination Networks (Central West, Country & Outback NSW, North Coast incl. Lord Howe Island, Riverina Murray, Southern NSW, Sydney Surrounds North, and one further network not listed on this page). Applicants must hold an ABN, be financially viable, own the rights to the event, and hold (or be able to secure) at least $20 million in public liability insurance.
Before applying, applicants must contact Destination NSW to discuss timeframes and confirm eligibility, via grants.admin@dnsw.com.au. All applications must be submitted through the Destination NSW online application form — applications by email, post or fax will not be accepted.
