Make It Tenterfield: Creativity in the Heart of the Highlands
The Make It Tenterfield Artist Co-op is a vibrant, grassroots initiative uniting creators and makers to build a thriving, sustainable arts community in the heart of Tenterfield.
Founded in 2019 by local creatives who saw the need for a collaborative, inclusive space. It offers artists, crafters, and artisans a welcoming place to showcase their work, connect with the public, and collaborate with each another.
From painters and potters, to textile artists, woodworkers, knitters, crocheters, and jewellery makers, the co-op is rich in diversity and unified by purpose: to celebrate the arts, encourage creativity, and breathe new energy into Tenterfield’s cultural life.
Located at the north end of Rouse Street, the co-op gallery displays and sells an eclectic collection of locally made art and handcrafted goods, offering visitors an authentic, ever-changing snapshot of Tenterfield’s creative spirit.
Workshops for all skill levels are offered throughout the year. These events create opportunities for locals and tourists alike to engage, learn, and support the arts.
At its heart, the co-op is a community. Members support each other with shared resources, marketing, and mentorship, nurturing emerging talent while honouring established creators.
Whether you are an artist looking for a place to showcase your creations, a visitor hunting for something handmade and heartfelt, or a local wanting to get involved, Make It Tenterfield Artist Co-op welcomes you. Come create, collaborate, and be part of something wonderfully unique.
