The intention of this artwork is to create a welcoming entry point to the park as members of the public travel down Kable Avenue. It provides a placemaking narrative for Tamworth and brings Tamworth’s association with textile art into the public space. Artist Lucy Irvine has worked closely with Raymond McLaren, renowned local engineer and director of Andromeda Industries and his team, along with the assistance of Rosie Armstrong to produce this large-scale textile work out of industrial materials.
