Bronze bust of Stan Coster on granite plinth, bronze inscription.
Stan was an Australian country music singer/songwriter, who began writing songs in 1956. Other famous country music artists including Slim Dusty recorded and sung over 70 of Stan's songs. Stan won numerous awards over his lifetime. In 1977 Stan won the Golden Guitar for APRA Song of the Year with his song "Three Rivers Hotel". Stan won another Golden Guitar for APRA Song of the Year in 1987 for "He's a Good Bloke When He's Sober." In the late 1970s, Stan began performing his own songs at Joe Maguires Pub in Tamworth.
Located in Bicentennial Park, Pioneers Parade, Kable Avenue, Tamworth.
