Riverbend seeks to evoke the fluid movement of water, and the resonances created when a river turns back on itself. When the first drop of rain lands on a red tin roof, we long to see it gather in the corrugations and gutters, building from a trickle to a torrent, swollen and oblivious. Ceaselessly, the flow responds to gravity in its quest for a level. In the same way, a seemingly inert river can be roused into action, every ripple longing to be a wave, rolling to the edge of the pond, where we see ourselves again, slaked and drowsy, reassured in the calm.

Located along the Peel River in Bicentennial Park.
