About

Pensioner's Hill - Pioneer Woman & Coal Miner

The sculptures were created by Carl Merten and Joan Relke and depict a coal miner, a pioneer woman, agriculture, and the Red Chief, the great Aboriginal warrior of the Kamilaroi Nation. The back of each sculpture features the Rainbow Serpent symbolising the dreamtime story, the underworld, fertility, and rejuvenation.
