Moree Race Club mural

The Moree Race Club Committee had thought for some years that it would be good to have a mural on the long stable wall facing the roadway. Artist, James Ellis, was commissioned to paint the mural, which took 5 days to complete. The brief for James was the need to denote the Moree Race Club, horse racing and the people who attend the races. We provided James with a multitude of racing silks designs that belonged to local trainers, syndicates and the like. James was the one who came up with the eventual design of both horses and jockeys to fit in all the silks colours and the racing crowd section.
