Over several days throughout November 2016 local residents and tenants of social housing worked with Indigenous mentor artist Shane Salvador under the supervision of Tamworth Regional Council Parks and Gardens and Gallery Staff to reinvigorate Granny Munro Park. Funds to invest in Granny Munro Park have been provided by the Social Housing Community Improvement Fund, Tamworth Family Support Services and Tamworth Regional Council. The Granny Munro Park public art project included the painting a mural on the toilet block in the park, seating area, and the Warral Rd bus shelter.
