Created by regional artist and weaver Gomeroi Yinarr Amy Hammond who was born in Moree, this sculpture was produced with the assistance of local fabricators JRC stainless.

Amy comments on the work stating that, "Dhinawan (emu) has always lived on the bagay (river)and our garaygalga (stories) continue to teach us their connection to this place. The last 200 years have seen the Dhinawan massacred and pushed away from the bagay, due to the expansion of agriculture, early government culls and invasive species.

Weaving has always held our garaygalga and Gomeroi people have woven these baskets, bags and nets for thousands of years. This sculpture shares the garaygalga of Dhinawan and is dedicated to the lives lost and that continue to be lost through colonisation."

Located along the Peel River in Bicentennial Park.
