Rosie Denton

Rosie Denton is a freelance event producer and operations specialist based in Tenterfield, NSW, with over a decade of experience delivering festivals, cultural events, and community programs across regional and remote Australia.

Rosie has worked at every level of event production — from site crew and front of house through to Festival Producer and Event Manager — building deep practical knowledge across operations, artist logistics, financial management, and stakeholder engagement. She has managed budgets up to $250,000, coordinated teams across 52 departments, and produced multi-artform programs featuring over 50 artists.

Her work spans some of Australia's most respected regional festivals and events, including Desert Festival, Mparntwe Street Art Festival, Parrtjima — A Festival in Lights, Earth Frequency Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, WOMADelaide, Golden Plains Music Festival, Wide Open Space Festival, and the Alice Springs Masters Games. She has extensive experience in First Nations cultural events, gained through years of working in Central Australia with Red Hot Arts Central Australia, where she progressed from operations roles to Festival Producer.

Rosie holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Event Management from Deakin University and is currently Operations Manager at the Tenterfield School of Arts. She is available for freelance contract work across the New England North West and surrounding regions, working remotely for planning and administration, and on-site for delivery.

I came to event production the way most people do in regional arts — by showing up, saying yes, and figuring it out. What started with site crew shifts and front of house rosters turned into a career I genuinely love, built around the belief that well-run events change how communities experience themselves.

The work I care most about sits at the intersection of culture, community, and place. Producing First Nations festivals and cultural programs in Central Australia over the past five years has shaped how I approach every event — with deep respect for the communities and artists at the centre of it, and an understanding that the operational detail exists to serve the story being told, not the other way around.

I am drawn to events that are ambitious but under-resourced, and to organisations that are doing meaningful work without always having the capacity to deliver it at the scale it deserves. I bring calm, practical problem-solving, strong financial management, and a genuine commitment to making things work — not just on paper, but on the day.

Based in Tenterfield, I am committed to building the cultural life of this region and making professional event production more accessible to the organisations and communities around me.
