About
Mike has worked in the creative sector for over 20 years. With a background in photojournalism, administration of a graduate level university arts program and visuals producer for a world renowned composer. Mike is a photographer and videographer based in Armidale, NSW.
Mike has worked as a photographer and filmmaker for commercial and editorial clients internationally. He earned a B.A. in Communication from the University of Utah in 2010 and was awarded a Fine Art, Music, Architecture and Dance Graduate Scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in 2011 through which he earned his MA in Visual and Media Anthropology at the Freie Universität Berlin.
In 2014 he developed the course Space and Place with Dr. Christian Reichel and lectured at the Freie Universität Berlin and Hochschule für Medien und Kunst in Berlin, Germany until 2023. Before moving to Australia in 2020 Mike Terry was a visual producer for the studio of filmmaker Yulia Mahr and classical composer Max Richter in Berlin and the United Kingdom. In 2022, he filmed and edited the 30 minute documentary ROLA {Stone} with paleontologist Dr Marissa Betts. The film was awarded Best Film in the Geoscience Professionals category at the UNESCO sponsored Earth Futures Film Festival. Their second documentary is currently in production.
