Japanese music to her felt too confined by technique with little emotion, she continued her music studies in America then still chasing her dream, she left for the country of flamenco guitars, dancers, passion and gypsies: Spain. Keiko then completed her Post Graduate diploma specialising in Piano at the Royal Conservatory Superior of Madrid Spain.
Spanish history, filled with strong emotions enthralled her “I was able to visit the house of the Spanish composer Manuel de Falla and the historic Alhambra Palace in Granada”.
She also visited the Valldemossa monastery in Majorca, a place of special poignancy for her because “this was where my favourite composer Chopin lived with his lover George Sand”. “Chopin composed some of his best works in Spain; this was ‘one of the reasons why I fell in love with Spanish music. ”Having performed as a Pianist at various venues in America, Spain, Japan and the UK, Keiko decided in 2003 to make the country town of Inverell in Australia her home.
