About

JuzzyDee is a singer-songwriter, collaborator and vocalist for hire with a smoky, sultry sound, a little grit around the edges and a natural pull toward music that grooves.

A former backing vocalist on the Sydney music scene, her sound wanders through jazz, blues, Americana, swing and soul — from slow-burning standards and swampy blues to swinging rhythms, deep grooves and her own original songs.

Now based in Tamworth, JuzzyDee performs both solo and in collaboration with other musicians and songwriters and is available for live venues, festivals, private events and creative collaborations.

Away from the mic, she co-owns Safari Club Bar & Grill, a venue championing live music, and is an accomplished visual artist, with a collection of her original works hanging throughout the venue.

Artist Statement

I’ve never been particularly interested in staying in one creative lane.

I’m a singer\songwriter, vocalist and visual artist, and for me, music and painting come from much the same place — story, memory, atmosphere and connection.

I’m drawn to things with history and soul. Worn edges. Old photographs. Faraway places. Beautifully imperfect voices. Music that makes your body move before your head has worked out why.

Musically, I wander through jazz, blues, Americana, swing, soul, Latin and African rhythms, taking pieces of everything that has found its way into my bones over the years. As a songwriter and collaborator, I’m interested in telling human stories — sometimes deeply personal, sometimes imagined, but always with feeling, rhythm and a little grit.

My visual work carries that same curiosity. I paint stories inspired by people, places, history and the romance of another time, creating worlds that feel as though you might have stumbled across them in an old journal or forgotten photograph.

That creativity spills into 'Safari Club Bar & Grill', the venue I own with my husband, where my paintings hang on the walls and live musicians take to the stage. It has become another kind of canvas — a place where food, art, music and people meet.

I don’t really separate any of it.

"I paint stories. I sing stories. I write them. And sometimes, I build the room for them to be told."
