WHAT WE DO

Arts North West was established in 1996 as a Regional Arts Development Program, and later established as an independent Regional Arts Board in 1997.

Our Vision is for a rich, diverse cultural landscape.

Our Mission is to expand creative opportunities in our region.

Arts North West facilitates the development of arts and cultural projects and initiatives across the whole region, building a rich cultural landscape in the New England North West and increasing participation in arts and cultural activities.  We play a vital role in building cultural community capacity, through advice and advocacy, through substantial professional development provision and with the forging of key partnerships and networks throughout the region. Our core business includes a multitude of day to day enquiries, providing immediate and quality advice, information and professional support to artists and organisations.

Arts North West on Tour

Arts North West ON TOUR (previously the New England North West Performing Arts Touring Network) is an established touring network of community, LGA, and privately managed venues/presenters. The network was established in 2009 and is now an industry-recognised regional touring model.

Aboriginal Cultural Support Program

Through extensive community consultation and strategic partnerships, Aboriginal Cultural Support Program is working with numerous individual and organisations to build and improve opportunities for Aboriginal arts and communities in our region.

Arts North West Connect

Arts North West Connect offers visitors and locals the opportunity to plan a day trip or longer cultural tour. Explore the artist studios, galleries, museums and other cultural venues and experiences of the New England North West region of New South Wales.

Enable Arts

EnAble Arts is an Arts and Disabilities Network established by Arts North West in response to direct requests for support and feedback from the community.  EnAble Arts is a network of individuals and organisations who can plan and implement a sustainable and supportive platform for arts and disability in the New England North West region of New South Wales.

Professional Development

Arts North West provides professional development workshops as well as individual advice to arts workers in our region.

Film NE/NW

Film NENW is the first contact point for filming in the region. We can link you to the services offered by our 11 film-friendly local Councils to help you create a successful production on time and on budget. Whether you’re shooting a feature film or television commercial, our goal is to make your production a smooth and rewarding experience. 

Regional Arts NSW

Regional Arts NSW is the peak body and support agency for arts and cultural development in regional NSW.

Arts North West is one of 14 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADO) in NSW.

ARTS NORTH WEST REGION

Arts North West acknowledges Aboriginal people as the traditional custodians of the lands we work on; we recognise the strength, resilience and capacity of Aboriginal people and respect the Aboriginal Elders past and present.

Arts North West recognises the support of Create NSW and the following local government bodies in the New England North West: Armidale Regional, Glen Innes Severn, Gunnedah Shire, Gwydir Shire, Liverpool Plains Shire, Moree Plains Shire, Narrabri Shire, Tamworth Regional, Tenterfield Shire, Uralla Shire and Walcha Council.
