These grants are awarded up to a maximum amount of $40,000, and they are allocated towards the following Areas of Interest: 15 July - Australian Government International Exhibitions Insurance Program The Australian Government International Exhibitions Insurance Program provides funding to offset the cost of insurance for eligible international exhibitions touring to Australia. 17 July - Audience Development Fund The Audience Development Fund (ADF) offers public galleries in NSW assistance in targeting and developing new audiences. It encourages galleries to create innovative public programs that engage artists and the community. The fund is designed to support galleries to develop and trial new models for engaging audiences that will increase immediate and future attendance, access and participation. Funds can be used for costs that support the development and implementation of public or educational programs, provide seed funding to trial new models for public engagement and/or build new partnerships for audience development. 17 July - Pride Foundation Australia (PFA) Small Grants The Small Grants program supports projects proposed by individuals and or organisations and or communities who would otherwise be limited by the constraints of other funding programs. The maximum grant has been increased to $1000 in 2022 and there will be more grants awarded (if successful) each round. The project needs to directly or indirectly assist, involve and benefit LGBTQIA+ people and promote positive social outcomes and mental health in the community. Second round closes on 5pm AEST on Monday, 17 July 2023 I Third round closes on 5pm AEST on Monday, 20 November 2023 28 July - The Bennelong Foundation - creating a healthier, more productive and inclusive community Whilst the Bennelong Foundation has a number of areas of interest, generally, it strives to support causes, organisations, and projects that possess certain principles and/or criteria. Grant Seekers, before you start, we recommend conducting a self-check by carefully considering if your project aligns with our primary focus areas and meets our funding criteria. 1 August - Australia Council of the Arts -Arts Projects for Organisations This program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences and communities. Organisations that undertake arts programs, projects, or that provide services to artists, are welcome to apply. Organisations can propose a single project, a suite of projects or annual programs of activity. Grants are available from $20,000 to $100,000. Supported activities must last no longer than two years from the proposed start date. 8 August - Transport Heritage Grants Program The Transport Heritage Grants Program is run on an annual basis to support organisations in the NSW community by preserving, exploring and promoting the history of our state's heritage transport.
14 August - Regional Arts Fund – Project Grants The Project Grants will fund high-quality arts projects benefitting regional or remote artists, arts workers, audiences and communities. The focus of the project could include any area of creative practice, multiple art forms or cross-disciplinary practice. Up to $30,000 Eligible entities under RAF: Individuals; Australian Incorporated Organisations including Incorporated associations such as Not‐for‐profit community associations incorporated under state or territory legislation; Companies limited by Guarantee (CLG’s); Cooperatives, registered under state or territory legislation; Indigenous Corporations; Local Government Organisations; and Auspicing - an eligible entity may auspice applications for ineligible organisations (for example unincorporated groups).
31 August - NAB Foundation Community Grants - 2023 NAB Foundation Community Grants fund local projects that help communities prepare for natural disasters, support long-term recovery and build resilience against future disasters. Grants are available for community-led projects that fall under one or more of the readiness, recovery and future-proofing categories. 31 August - FRRR Strengthening Rural Communities — Small & Vital The Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) Small & Vital stream gives small remote, rural and regional communities across Australia the opportunity to access funds for a broad range of initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities. Grants up to $10,000 are available for a broad range of grassroots, community-led initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities that strengthen local people, places and climate solutions, with a preference for smaller communities (populations under 15,000). 31 August - Strengthening Rural Communities – Prepare & Recover The Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) Prepare & Recover program supports communities in remote, rural and regional communities across Australia to implement initiatives that prevent and prepare for future climate related impacts, or recover from existing disasters in the medium to long-term timeframe, generally one to ten years after the disaster. Grants up to $25,000 are available for a broad range of initiatives to strengthen the capacity and capability of local people, organisations, networks, and systems that help communities to be informed, skilled, connected and resourced for the future. 31 August - Strengthening Rural Communities – Rebuilding Regional Communities The Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) Rebuilding Regional Communities (RRC) stream gives small remote, rural and regional communities across Australia the opportunity to access funds for a broad range of initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities. Recognising the impacts of COVID-19 on communities, the Australian Government has partnered with FRRR to distribute $5 million from 2022 to 2024 to support community-led initiatives. The objectives of the program are to: Enhance the process of recovery of remote, rural and regional communities from the COVID-19 pandemic; Reduce social isolation and foster stronger, more resilient remote, rural and regional communities; and/or Sustain local remote, rural and regional organisations and their work.
5 September - Australia Council of the Arts - Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups This program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences and communities. Grants are available from $10,000 to $50,000. Supported activities must not last longer than two years from the proposed start date. 10 September - Volunteer Museum Grant Program - Small Grants - 2023 This program’s Small Grants aim to meet the short-term, collection-based requirements of community museums and Aboriginal cultural spaces. There are no set categories for funding and applications for a broad range of projects will be considered. As an example, previous Small Grants have funded the purchase of computer cataloguing software, exhibition mannequins and display cases, oral history recording equipment and archival storage items. 29 October - Museums and Galleries NSW - Skills Development Grants Skills Development Grants provide funding to volunteer museums and museum networks for regional or state-focused skill development training and networking events. 31 December 2024 - Regional Investment Activation Fund - Stream 2 The $110 million Regional Investment Activation Fund will co-invest with eligible entities on projects that will deliver significant economic, social and/or environmental benefits for a priority industry or location.
Stream Two of the Regional Investment Activation Fund grant funding may be used for capital and other expenses directly related to the delivery of eligible projects. This may include: Purchase of land (if necessary for the project and suitable alternatives to rent do not exist) Purchasing, constructing, installing and/or commissioning new plant, equipment and/or machinery Purchasing, constructing, establishing and/or fitting out new facilities, buildings or hubs Purchasing technology and/or intellectual property (IP) required to undertake the project Upgrading existing facilities, buildings, plant, equipment, machinery and/or technology where necessary to deliver the project and achieve its outcomes Cost of contractors to construct new buildings and facilities External project management and administration costs up to 10% of project cost Contingency costs up to 25% of project cost Eligible costs are incurred once both parties have signed a Funding Deed.

21 July 2023 - HAWKESBURY ART PRIZE - The Hawkesbury Art Prize is a biennial prize awarded to an Australian artist for a painting, drawing or work on paper with the theme of Contemporary Australian Identity. Open to Australian artists, the prize is awarded for the most outstanding work created in the past 12 months. The theme invites artists to respond to the concept of contemporary identity in Australian life. The prize excludes photography, textiles, embroidery, and sculpture. The art prize is judged by a panel made up of three notable figures in the Australian art world. The Hawkesbury Art Prize is a significant award.
21 July 2023 - THE MAN IN THE PARK MONOLOGUE WRITING COMPETITION Through BMEC’s Local Stages program, BMEC is planning on creating a new touring theatre production of a small series of monologues under the title The Man in The Park. We are looking for regional playwrights to script a monologue somewhere between 5-10 minutes in length. The monologue is to be performed by only one actor. 25 July 2023 - Prime Ministers Literary Award - The Prime Minister's Literary Awards celebrate outstanding literary talent in Australia and the valuable contribution Australian literature and history makes to the nation's cultural and intellectual life. 1 August 2023 - Acme London Residency Develop your visual arts practice and professional networks while living and working at Acme’s East London residency space, the Fire Station. 4 August 2023 - The Mosman Art Prize The Mosman Art Prize is an acquisitive award of $50,000 sponsored by Mosman Council. The judge for this years’ prize is artist Fiona Lowry. 12 August 2023 - URUNGA SMALL SCULPTURE PRIZE - Established in 2018 the Urunga Small Sculpture Prize is a regional award for small sculpture, presented by the Urunga Business and Community Chamber, and the Urunga Art Space. 14 August 2023 - Tenterfield Spring Art Prize The Tenterfield Artists’ Collective Studio Gallery are hosting the Tenterfield Spring Art Prize . Entry Forms are due by 3.30 Monday 14th August and Artworks to be at the Gallery by 3.30 Sunday 20th August, Entry form is in the link above. 25 August 2023 - Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize Held every two years, the Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize attracts some of Australia’s most accomplished artists, awarding a generous acquisitive cash prize of $50,000. The Prize provides Bendigo Art Gallery with the opportunity to survey contemporary painting by established and emerging artists from across Australia. Works from the shortlisted artists are on display during the Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize 2023 exhibition from November 2023 – February 2024.
