ARTS NORTH WEST - CASP GRANTS 2024

Arts North West is thrilled to announce the availability of grants through the Country Arts Support Program (CASP) for individuals, arts community groups, and arts organizations in the New England North West region. Funded by Create NSW and administered by Regional Arts Development Organisations, CASP provides small grants of up to $3,000 to support community arts and cultural development in regional NSW.

The goals of the Country Arts Support Program are to support locally determined community arts and cultural activities, enhance access to a variety of arts programs for regional groups, promote cultural identity expression within communities, and generate social and economic benefits through training, employment, and promotional opportunities. CASP also aims to foster appreciation for cultural diversity, strengthen the sustainability of community arts organisations, and boost their resilience.

Arts North West encourages applicants from the New England North West region to apply for CASP grants to nurture their creative projects and enrich the local arts and cultural scene.

The program is open for applications from 15 May 2024.

You must be an individual, group, a not-for-profit arts-based organisation in an LGA within the Arts North West footprint:
Armidale Regional, Glen Innes Severn, Gunnedah Shire, Gwydir Shire, Liverpool Plains Shire, Moree Plains Shire, Narrabri Shire, Tamworth Regional, Tenterfield Shire, Uralla Shire and Walcha Council.

'MYALL CREEK MEMORIAL EXHIBITION' AND 'GATHER & TRADE: ABORIGINAL ARTISAN MICRO MARKETS' EVENTS ON 8 JUNE, 2024.

Arts North West is partnering with Ceramic Break Sculpture Park in Warialda to deliver the 'Myall Creek Memorial Exhibition' and 'Gather & Trade: Aboriginal Artisan Micro Markets' on 8 June, 2024 as part of the 2024 Myall Creek Memorial Events.

The memorial events pay tribute to the strength and resilience of First Nations people in the face of devastating colonial actions and a reminder of the importance of truth telling about Australia’s black history, refer to https://myallcreek.org/the-massacre-story/ for further information on the history of the Myall Creek Massacre.

This event is an opportunity for communities to recover, reconcile and share in First Nations creativity, living culture and stories.

Tamworth Regional Gallery has come on board as a drop-off location for artwork submissions.

BOOK YOUR TICKETS TO ‘FELTING HANDS ON THE NAMOI’ IN BAAN BAA AND GWABEGAR FOR JUNE 2024!

Arts North West is partnering with RAMHP and Hunter New England Health to deliver a FREE wet felt hat making creative development workshops, to flood effected communities in the Narrabri Shire.

The Wet Felt hat making workshops are hosted by Liverpool Plains creative, Joanne Barr. Joanne has extensive experience in a range of areas including textiles, education and training, and agriculture and is willing to share her creative skills with all workshop participants.

Rural Adversity Mental Health Program Coordinator Letitia Cross will be attending each workshops to provide informal support and a point of contact for information and resources on health and wellbeing.

During each one-day workshops, every participant will go home with a newly created felt hat, new friends, and reinvigorated connections in their community.

VISUAL STORYTELLING + PERSONAL BRAND WORKSHOP WITH THE LOCAL JOBS PROGRAM

Unlock your potential and stand out in today's competitive job market with the Visual Storytelling and Personal Brand workshop.

This 3 hour workshop equips participants with:

⭐ Essential digital media skills to enhance any workplace

⭐ Awareness of digital footprint and strategies to craft their personal brand to enhance future employment opportunities

⭐ Practical experience making strategic video content for social media

Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate for their resume.

THE TRAIL OF LIGHT AND SOUND IS TAKING OVER TABULAM FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY!

Join Realartworks.Inc, Tabulam artists, community members and Arts North West on a performative trail of light and sound through the streets of Tabulam from 6.00pm Saturday 25 May, 2024.

See the everyday transformed through vibrant Interactive installations, live theatre and original music exploring the notion of Home. The trail will feature light projections, transformative soundscapes, poetry, performance art and much much more! Come along and be part of this immersive and experiential arts experience.
