Upcoming Events

Five New Exhibitions at NERAM
23 October - 10 January, Armidale
Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award is twenty years old and this is reflected in the significant collection of contemporary Australian drawing developed through the award by the Grafton Regional Gallery.  The winning work, Portrait 2, by John Philippides will be on exhibition as well as the $15,000 in acquisitions awarded by the judge to Peter Bellew, Tuncester Track, Godwin Bradbeer, Man in a Squared Space, Sussie Heymans, Sequence, Anne Judell, Zone and Gosia Wlodarczak, Crumpled.
Munificence: A Celebration of Hinton the Collector . This year is the 80th anniversary of the first work donated by Howard Hinton to the Armidale Teachers’ College.  Munificence focuses on this special benefactor and his donations, and is supplemented by a photographic history of the College itself. Come in to see works that make up this important Australian collection of paintings, and also learn more about the man himself.
James White: Major and Minor Movement. The gentle falling of rain, evening light on dappled water, the whoosh of a child’s swing – these are some of the themes that celebrated local artist James White explores in work in this latest exhibition.  A member of the Australian Watercolour Institute, James explores the properties of light and reflections in these colourful paintings.
Allsorts will show us work from the Coventry and NERAM collections, from the bold to the subtle, from large to small, highlighting the diverse paintings and works on paper which make up these two collections.
Ann Streckfuss: Arcanum. The clay works in coastal artist Ann Streckfuss’ exhibition are wheel thrown and hand built forms symbolising the nurturing influence of the sea and the stars. Fire and clay interact in the Raku kiln and it is smoke that has the final power, adding its’ own marks to Ann's intentional design, serendipitously adding its own mystery.
