Arcadia Winds Armidale

Arcadia Winds
Armidale Town Hall, Rusden Street

 4 May 2017 @ 7pm

Description: Arcadia Winds was formed in 2013 by five like-minded young musicians from around Australia, who shared a love of playing together and a passion for chamber music. Graduates of the Australian National Academy of Music, they have played together in various combinations for years as members of the Australian Youth Orchestra. Each is an outstanding soloist in their own right. In its short history, Arcadia Winds (formerly the Arcadia Quintet) has won competitions and performed in leading venues and festivals, including the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival (2015) and the Four Winds Festival (2014 and 2016).

In 2015 they were selected as the first generation of Musica Viva’s prestigious artist development initiative – FutureMakers. The Arcadias participated in the AYO Chamber Players program at the 2015 Musica Viva Festival, so it is a special pleasure to welcome them as colleagues on the main stage.
